Otto Wagner: the genius of architecture who was ahead of his time
Az osztrák Otto Wagner tervei alapján készült és 1873-ben átadott Rumbach Sebestyén utcai zsinagóga bizánci és mór stílusjegyekkel van felruházva. A zsinagógát a vallási modernizációt hirdető pesti neológ közösség építtette a hagyományos liturgiának megfelelő berendezéssel. A korszak legmodernebb, könnyűszerkezetű fémvázas építési technikáját hozta létre Otto Wagner ezzel a zsinagógával, amiért ő saját maga vállalt felelősséget.

As the darkest chapter in its history, in 1941 the Hungarian authorities converted it into an internment camp: Jews without Hungarian citizenship were gathered here before their deportation. About 20,000 people were deported from here to Kamenetsk-Podolsk, Ukraine, where they were immediately executed. This was the first bloody stop of the Hungarian Soá story.
Sacred life ceased by the end of the 1950s. Endre Sós, then president of the Budapest Israelite Congregation, closed the church square.
In 2014, an exceptional grant agreement was signed between the Prime Minister's Office and the Association of Hungarian Jewish Communities, which provided 3.2 billion forints for the reconstruction and reconstruction of the Rumbach Synagogue.
The synagogue reopened in 2021. In addition to its traditional function as a community space for concerts, performances and events, it also serves as an external exhibition space for the Jewish Museum and Archives

Rabbi studied in Israel. His degree was awarded at Yeshivat Pirchei Soshanim, and he also graduated with a degree in international relations.
He teaches at the Szarvas International Jewish Youth Camp formerly the religious leader of the György Dózsa Street community, currently the Rabbi of Bethlen Square Synagogue and the religious leader of the Rumbach Synagogue.
